Somatic Movement & Summer Herbs Workshop

Welcome to Rise and Bloom workshop: Tending the Inner Garden, a space to root into summer through gentle somatic practices and herbal healing explorations

This workshop explores the relationship between the nervous system, stress, seasonal rhythms, and the supportive wisdom of summer herbs through a gentle, inquiry-based approach.

Together, we’ll ask meaningful questions: How does the body communicate overwhelm? What helps us feel safe, grounded, and connected? How might herbs support – not override  - the body’s own intelligence?

After a grounding somatic movement practice, participants will enjoy herbal refreshments, and making of herbal salve and rollers. Through discussion, reflection, and herbal learning, we will explore calming and nourishing summer plants, nervous system regulation practices, and the role of presence, rest, and curiosity in wellbeing. Rather than offering quick fixes, this workshop invites a deeper conversation with the body, nature, and the patterns that shape our daily lives.

Perfect for anyone interested in herbalism, holistic wellness, embodied learning, and creating more ease and comfort during the summer season

Tomomi Shibuya

is a Registered Acupuncturist and herbalist. Her healing journey began in her 20s as a result of her own chronic health issues. She studied herbalism and various modalities of alternative healing. She studied in Dominion Herbal college in 2001, and graduated from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. As a practitioner since 2009, Tomo has integrated her own personal healing experiences combining her knowledge for holistic wellness.

Tomo’s approach to healing understands the inseparable connection between the body and mind, recognizing that symptoms are signals of imbalance. Tomo uses relatively thinner Japanese needles with a focus on subtle stimulation. The experience offers a gentle acupuncture session to promote circulation and balance the nervous system.

Tomo also offers moxibustion, a heat therapy that enhances the effect of needles. Moxibustion uses mugwort, an herb supportive for treating pain, anxiety, internal conditions, and women’s health. The herb, placed in cones on different areas of the meridians of the body, are warmed up to offer a pleasant heat to activate the herb’s healing benefits.

Tara Campbell BA, MES is a Somatic Practitioner, Mind-Body Facilitator and Intuitive Heart-Centered Guide. Her therapeutic toolkit encompasses certifications in various modalities including integrative somatic trauma theory, somatic attachment theory, hatha & restorative/yin yoga, mindfulness and body-based somatic approaches tailored to each person's needs and experience. Holding a space to ensure you feel safe and held with priority is of the highest importance in her practice.

Through authentic attunement, you can expect to feel seen and held for who you are, and move forward with the steps towards positive change and inner transformation. She works in collaboration with you to uncover parts of yourself that appear as blocks or shadows, igniting a process of self-inquiry to open up opportunities for inner growth and expansion.

Tara has experience working with people seeking guidance in life transitions, feelings of stuckness, dealing with relationship anxiety, feeling a loss of purpose, building confidence and self-esteem, family-related struggles, identifying and clearing stored trauma, chronic pain, and workplace stress. She provides tools to deal with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, family, and relational trauma.
