Are you curious about your breath and how it shapes the way you move, feel, and reset?
We’re inviting you to join a Vancouver-based wellness study focused on breath awareness and self-connection during mindful movement. Led by mytorso.ai, a wellness tech company, this study explores how wearable tools can support breath, presence, and recovery, both on and off the mat.
You’ll join up to three guided Yin Yoga classes with Kristen McCarthy while wearing a soft, non-invasive breath-monitoring band positioned around the abdomen (below the chest and above the belly button). This band is designed to gently track individual breath patterns and form to help you become more aware of how you breathe during different activities, whether in movement or stillness, and to support improvements in breath regulation, posture, and nervous system balance.
After each class, you’ll be invited to share your reflections on comfort, fit, and how the experience felt. You’ll receive personalized breathing insights after each session through our study interface. These insights will show how your breath shifts moment-to-moment to help you better understand how your body’s unique rhythms relate to breath, stress, and recovery.
To participate, you must be 18+, physically healthy, able to provide informed consent, and open to participating in a beginner level Yin Yoga class.
What’s included:
Up to 3 free 75 minute Yin Yoga classes in a private, small-group setting (max 6 people/class) with Kristen.
A chance to reconnect with your body and support a meaningful innovation in wellness
Breathing insights from our wearable technology after each session
All information and data collected is confidential and de-identified
